NEWS
Greetings fellow curlers,

I look forward to welcoming you to Quebec City for the fourth annual “Coupe Québec La Cage aux Sports”. In order to improve the bonspiel, a number of changes have been made to this year’s edition. Please continue to pass along your comments and suggestions; they are always greatly appreciated.

The first change, and probably the biggest, is that there will be a 15-team women’s section this year. There will be three sections composed of five teams each. The top two teams in each section will advance to the main draw.

On the men’s side, the bonspiel will move from 24 to 32 teams. The change has been motivated by two factors: the large number of teams that want to play the bonspiel and a decrease in sponsorship revenue which would have necessitated a significant decrease in purses.

The schedule for games has also changed somewhat this year. Gone is the possibility of playing four games on Saturday. On the other hand, all teams will play two games on Thursday. You will either play at 4 pm and 9 pm or at 6 pm and 11pm. (Please contact me with your preference.)

Finally, the traditional Cage aux Sports Happy Hour (5 à 7) will take place on Friday, October 19th at the Cage aux Sports in Ancienne Lorette. This event is a perfect opportunity to express our thanks to our sponsors.

Please continue to consult our web site. There will continue to be more information added between now and the start of the bonspiel.

I’m sure you will have a fabulous weekend here in Quebec City!
